Read it this weekend finally! Though it started out a bit slow, as I got further into it, I found myself really sympathizing with this Bree character, especially since we all know what happens to her at the end. There are a few other new characters that are sort of interesting as well, and it makes me wonder if Stephenie Meyer has more of these "novellas" in the hopper. I think her writing has improved, which is a huge plus. However, I did find myself wondering if a 15 year old runaway-turned-vampire is capable of the type of logic Bree demonstrates here. She's a real thinker. The few seconds I saw her in the movie version of Eclipse had me thinking she was a frightened, timid little girl. Here, not so much. She seems wise beyond her years. It's a quick read (a few hours), so I'd recommend it. My note to Stephenie Meyer: write a novella about Fred. There's a story there.
